Screen printing in Kenya for bulk T-shirts, uniforms and merchandise
Screen printing is the classic choice for printing the same design on many garments. Ink is pushed through a stencil (a screen) onto the fabric, one colour at a time, giving bold, solid colour that holds up well to washing. It is a favourite for event T-shirts, campaign and church T-shirts, team wear, staff T-shirts and school items.
Pely Brand Kenya offers screen printing for customers across Kenya, from our offices and workshop at Keekorok Shopping Mall, Keekorok Road, Nairobi CBD. There is no minimum order, and every job is quoted individually based on your design, garments and quantity. Larger runs generally bring the cost per piece down, so tell us your quantity and we will quote accordingly.
What we screen print on
- T-shirts and polo shirts for staff, events, teams and campaigns
- Hoodies, sweaters and jackets
- Aprons, workwear and uniforms
- School wear and sports kits. See our school uniforms page.
- Tote bags and promotional items. Ask us about your item.
How screen printing works
Every colour in your design needs its own screen, so the process is set up once and then repeated quickly across your whole order. That is why screen printing is so efficient for bigger quantities.
- Artwork: you send your design and we check it is suitable for printing.
- Separation: the design is split into its individual colours.
- Screens: a screen is prepared for each colour.
- Printing: ink is pressed through each screen onto the garment, colour by colour, and then cured so it lasts through washing.
When screen printing is the right choice
- You need the same design on many garments, such as event, campaign or team T-shirts.
- Your design uses solid, bold colours and not too many of them.
- You want a long-lasting print on cotton T-shirts.
- You want a lower cost per piece as your quantity goes up.
When another method works better
If you need a handful of items, names and numbers, or a design with many colours or photographic detail, heat press printing is usually the better fit. If you want a premium, stitched finish for polos, caps and uniforms, choose embroidery. Our guide to screen printing T-shirts and our comparison of embroidery vs screen printing vs heat press explain the differences, or just message us and we will recommend one.
Artwork: what to send us
No design yet? Send your idea or logo and we will tell you what is possible.
- A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) is best. A clear, large PNG or JPG can also work.
- Tell us how many colours you want and your garment colours.
- Tell us where on the garment the print should go (front, back, sleeve, chest) and roughly how big.
- Tell us how many pieces you need and sizes if you know them, and your deadline.
What affects the price of screen printing
Send us the details and we will give you a quote for your exact job.
- the number of colours in your design
- the size of the print and the number of print positions
- the type and colour of garment
- the quantity you order
- your deadline
Caring for screen printed garments
Wash printed garments inside out in cool to warm water, avoid bleach, and do not iron directly on the print. This helps the print stay bright through many washes.

Screen printing in Kenya: frequently asked questions
How much does screen printing cost in Kenya?
It depends on the number of colours, print size, garments, quantity and deadline. Send us your design and quantity and we will quote your job.
Is there a minimum order for screen printing?
No. Pely Brand Kenya has no minimum order. Keep in mind that screen printing is most economical for larger runs, so for very small quantities we may suggest heat press printing instead.
Is screen printing better than heat press printing?
Neither is better for every job. Screen printing is best for larger quantities of the same design in solid colours. Heat press is better for small runs, names and numbers, and designs with many colours.
What file do I send for screen printing?
A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) is best. A clear high-resolution PNG or JPG can also work. If you are unsure, send what you have and we will advise.
Can you print on garments I supply?
You can ask us. Tell us what garments you have when you request a quote and we will confirm whether they are suitable.
How do I wash screen printed T-shirts?
Wash inside out in cool to warm water, avoid bleach, and do not iron directly on the print.
Can you print different colours or sizes in one order?
Yes. Tell us the sizes and garment colours you need when you request your quote.
